Delineation & Guideposts
A delineator is a small target repeated at speed — Type II is enough and lasts seven years.
Small area, repeated at speed — Type II is enough and lasts 7 years. A delineator is roughly 50 cm² of film seen forty times a minute, so specifying Type XI here buys brightness nobody registers and pays for it at every post.
NVR-2000 (Type II) on NVR-DP90 900 mm rebound posts is the combination road authorities reorder. The post is the part that fails first — hit by a mower or a mirror — so we quote them as a set rather than let the two arrive from different suppliers.
For unlit rural corridors, NVR-RS4 reflective studs and NVR-SRS6 solar studs cover the same job where a post cannot be driven.

Highway & Expressway Signs
Overhead gantry panels read at a wide observation angle — the case for Type VIII / Type XI, not Type IV.
Work Zone Drums & Barricades
Work zone devices are read at close range and low angle — Type IV is the volume answer.
Tunnels & Underpasses
Tunnel signage is lit by headlights against a dark surround — Type XI plus a passive photoluminescent fallback.
